6:30-7:30 A.T.S. Tonight is Turkish with arms / half turn and full turn, and then a review of last weeks Arabic shimmy with arms, turn and line switches. Please remember to bring your zil's, I will remember to bring mine :) Keep in mind tonights class is the Int/adv class from Cafe India. If this is your first class ever I strongly suggest the beginning A.T.S. and cardio shimmy drills on Thursday's from 6:30-7:30 at Culture shock.
After the A.T.S. class tonight stick around for Stevens yummy combos and fusion drills from 7:30 -8:30 same room right after mine, a jolly good time. I will be taking the class right along with you, weeeeewhooooo!
Culture shock offers rad discount class cards, otherwise it is a 12.00 drop in at the front desk.

Re: Tonight don't miss the Double Header at Culture shock!
Wed, April 16, 2008 - 12:48 PMThank you so much for rocking the Arabic Shimmy with Arms/Turn/Fade/Circle and the Turkish Shimmy with Arms/Turn/Circle. That was an extraordinary class. What a blessing to dance in a trio with Medina and Sarah. We learned so much and had so much fun! I am totally twitterpated with my dance sisters. I noticed that I need to find a way to work on moving in a circle shape during circling turns instead of cutting across the circle in a triangle shape. Hard for me to hold my space in a traveling spin like that. And no success yet holding a zill pattern when I have that many layers going on.
Would really love to review Sahra, the Double Back, and the Double Back Half Turn next week.
Oh, and I noticed on the DVD that I am doing the Sunanda incorrectly. Looks like I am breaking the arc that the arms are supposed to make by stopping with both arms up in the middle each time, but it is much prettier the way they do it on the DVD where the whole thing just flows. Not sure how else to request help with gracefully flowing transitions between moves (inside combos and in between combos), but I really need that a lot! Maybe I worry too much about hitting marks right on the count instead of just letting myself dance. -

Bingo, baby, Bingo. You've gotta enjoy dancing a move before you refine it. That way, it comes naturally when you're in the "oh shit what do I do next!?!" phase.
