Fri, January 9, 2009 - 4:37 PMI just called Cafe India. The $20 entrance not only includes beautiful art, live drumming, and three of San Diego's most gorgeous dancers; you also get either a vegetarian or non-vegetarian entree, salad, an appetizer, and wine!
That's an amazing deal, a great chance to stimulate the local economy by patronizing a small business, and a wonderful way to support local artists.
Don't forget to tip the dancers!

Re: I'm dancing at Cafe India this Friday!
Sat, January 10, 2009 - 6:27 PMit was beautiful...essentially, kirti srivastava and her sister preet wanted to create an event that featured visual art, dancing and live music in their artspace at cafe india. to start things off, sabrina came and did a beautiful solo to a poem by deepak chopra. kirti n i danced both danced to vikas and nana's enchanted drumming. each of us were asked to dance a piece inspired by different paintings by kirti's sister preet, who was the featured visual artist last night.
for the future, i hope they plan more events of this nature, because SD so desperately needs more kick ass cultural art events for ALL walks of life, not just the ritzy la jolla/del mar scene. sooz, i am sure kirti would be interested in talking to you about coming down for one of her upcoming events. hope to see your fabulousness soon!!!
much love to you all!
bless up,
karen
